Feyenoord Academy coaches add value in Free State

Highly experienced Feyenoord Academy coaches Jan Gosgens and Jeffrey Oost are currently in the South African city of Bloemfontein to work with some of the best talents of the Free State. The two coaches run a week of clinics as part of the Free State International Football Program, a partnership between Feyenoord, Free State Province and Simsport International. It is the second time Feyenoord travel to Free State, as the first edition of the partnership was held in October 2014.

Thirty six of the best talents of the Free State have been given a chance to show their skills at the second edition of the Free State International Football Program. Whereas last year Mike Obiku and Terence Arnaud represented Feyenoord, this year the club sent senior academy coaches Jan Gösgens and Jeffrey Oost, both of whom worked in African football in the past. Both worked at the famous Feyenoord Academy in Ghana for several years and Gösgens also spent a year at the Supersport Feyenoord Academy in South Africa.

'We are honoured to have highly experienced coaches such as Jeffrey and Jan at this year's camp', says Rasthoem Simons of Simsport. 'The experience will certainly be one the boys will never forget and we hope to continue the partnership with Feyenoord for many years to come.'

Gösgens and Oost will be in Bloemfontein for the remainder of the week, after which they shall select the brightest talent for a trial in at the Feyenoord Academy in Rotterdam.
