Feyenoord contract keeper Cojocaru until end of season
Feyenoord added a goalkeeper to their roster on Friday. Valentin Cojocaru, a 26-year-old Romanian, arrives from SK Dnipro-1 on a loan deal until the end of the season.
This season Cojocaru has been first-choice keeper at Ukrainian Premjer Liha SK Dnipro-1. With the league now on hold in that country, the contracts of foreign players have been suspended.
‘It’s obviously a real shame that we have to do without Justin Bijlow for the rest of the season,’ says technical director Frank Arnesen. ‘In Ofir we have a replacement of very high quality, but it’s important for us to have another experienced keeper. Happily we’ve been able to find one in the shape of Valentin Cojocaru, who will join us with immediate effect.’
