Feyenoord and Quinten Timber reunited

Today sees the return to the Feyenoord family of Quinten Timber after eight years away. The 21-year-old midfielder, who spent seven years at the Feyenoord Academy, joins the club from FC Utrecht on a contract that runs until mid-2026.
‘It certainly feels familiar to be back here,’ says Timber. ‘When I drove to De Kuip it felt like a homecoming. Feyenoord did their utmost to bring me back and I’m delighted about that. It’s fantastic to be back here, eight years after leaving, in this stadium where the fans give the team so much energy. I’m fit and raring to get straight into training tomorrow.’

The right-footed midfielder began his career at DVSU in his home town Utrecht, before Feyenoord picked him up as a tender seven year old. Timber spent seven years at Varkenoord (2008-2014), playing in various age-group sides with current Feyenoord first-teamers Lutsharel Geertruida and Orkun Kökcü.

Timber broke into the FC Utrecht first team last season after spending several years in the Ajax youth academy. In his debut Eredivisie season Timber was a virtual ever-present, impressing with his energy and dynamic style.
