Feyenoord in next phase of exploring potential investment

Feyenoord has appointed investment bank Lazard to prepare and assist on the process of attracting a financial injection in the form of external capital. The club announces this today following prior reporting on this process.

This step is taken in close consultation with its Management Board, Supervisory Board and Feyenoord’s current shareholders, Stichting Continuïteit Feyenoord and Vrienden van Feyenoord. Feyenoord has the ambition to compete at the highest level and to elevate the club’s national and international sporting performance. The external capital is necessary to realize this ambition and will be used to further invest in the first team, the scouting department and the youth academy. The intended capital injection is in principle not linked to the ongoing conversations surrounding the new stadium, but potential investors will be given the opportunity to invest in the new stadium through the club.

There is no guarantee that any transaction will take place. What is certain is that the independence and unique character of Feyenoord will be preserved. Further announcements will be made if there is reason to do so.
