A 1-0 win at Go Ahead Eagles on Wednesday evening means that Feyenoord can no longer be overhauled in third place in the Eredivisie. With just Sunday’s final round of matches to play, Arne Slot’s side have an unassailable lead over fourth place FC Twente, who travel to De Kuip at the weekend for the concluding fixture.
Both sides went into the midweek encounter in Deventer fairly secure in their respective positions in the table. With two matches left Feyenoord were six points ahead of FC Twente and had a far superior goal difference.
