#7UCIANO | Feyenoord sign Luciano Narsingh
Luciano Narsingh has joined Feyenoord from Swansea City on a free transfer. The 28-year-old winger signs a two-year deal until mid-2021. The deal was completed Friday after the player passed a medical.
Training camp
Narsingh took a look round the 1908 training complex on Friday. The forward, who will wear the number 7 shirt at Feyenoord (see how that will look here), will travel with the rest of the squad to the Austria training camp on Monday.
Back in the Eredivisie
The move sees Narsingh return to the Eredivisie, where he has represented sc Heerenveen and PSV. The rapid winger was an assist king in Friesland, earning a call-up to the Dutch national side and a contract with PSV in the 2011-12 season. He made the switch to the Premier League after four and a half years in Eindhoven (159 appearances, 26 goals, 31 assists and two league titles).
Internationals
Narsingh now has 19 Oranje caps and four international goals to his name.
Sjaak Troost
‘We are delighted with Luciano’s arrival,’ said technical director Sjaak Troost. ‘His speed, nose for goal and assists are big weapons, adding specific qualities to our squad and giving us more options in an attacking sense. He also brings a lot of experience. Luciano makes Feyenoord stronger.’
Jaap Stam
‘Luciano brings a number of different qualities with him in an attacking sense,’ reiterated head coach Jaap Stam. ‘That will give us the possibility to change our approach up even more, which can help us make a difference in matches.’
