Feyenoord still waiting for first victory

Feyenoord are still searching for their first win of the Eredivisie season after two matches. After last week’s 2-2 draw at De Kuip against Sparta Rotterdam, Jaap Stam’s side shared the spoils in the first away match of the campaign at sc Herenveen on Sunday, which ended 1-1.

Despite a dearth of chances for the visitors in the first half, Feyenoord grabbed the lead in time added on before the break. Steven Berghuis converted the second spot-kick of the afternoon, after Jens Odgaard had missed one at the other end on 13 minutes.

Berghuis blasted his penalty into the right-hand corner well beyond the grasp of keeper Warner Hahn, whereas Odgaard had his saved by Kenneth Vermeer. Otherwise the Feyenoord keeper had little to do, but he did have to pick the ball out of the net late on in the match. A raking Ibrahim Dresevic shot from more than thirty meters out levelled the score on 80 minutes.

Be at De Kuip for the next match
The draw leaves Feyenoord on two points after two matches in the Eredivisie. Jaap Stam’s side are in Europa League action in Georgia on Thursday as Feyenoord defend their 4-0 lead against Dinamo Tbilisi in the second leg of the third qualifying round.
