Guus Til makes season-long loan switch to Feyenoord

Feyenoord have brought in the first reinforcement ahead of the new season in the shape of Guus Til. The 23-year-old midfielder arrives at De Kuip on a season-long loan deal from Russian side Spartak Moscow.

Til is well acquainted with the Eredivisie. He spent three seasons at AZ between 2017 and 2019, scoring 23 goals in 76 league games. His performances earned him a debut for the Dutch national team in March 2018 and ultimately a transfer to Spartak Moscow. Last season saw Til loaned out to SC Freiburg in Germany.

Says technical director Frank Arnesen: ‘In Guus Til we are adding the type of midfielder that is not only familiar with but also very well suited to the type of football envisaged by the new head coach Arne Slot. A midfielder who runs his socks off, can score goals and plays in several positions across the middle. An immediate reinforcement for us and another chance for Guus to show what he can do.’

Til’s shirt number in the 2021-22 season will be announced in due course.
