Feyenoord rock De Kuip in N.E.C. thriller

Feyenoord secured another three points on Saturday night in a rollercoaster of a match against N.E.C. Two thirds full for the first time in 18 months, De Kuip was rocking, as the sides netted eight goals between them. The hosts came out on top in the end, winning 5-3 after a crazy second half.

Coach Arne Slot’s side looked to be cruising as they raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Orkun Kökcü and Luis Sinisterra. The visitors hit back hard, though, and even edged themselves ahead when Calvin Verdonk netted. But backed by their passionate fans, the hosts were clearly not to be outdone, showing great resilience to turn the game on its head again.

Guus Til was at the centre of things, scoring twice in the final stages. He netted on 80 minutes to tie things up, before edging Feyenoord 4-3 ahead a minute before normal time. Substitute Cyriel Dessers hit with a piledriver in injury time to put the result beyond doubt.
