Real Madrid Graduate School visit Feyenoord

On February 7 the Feyenoord Academy hosted 30 students from the Real Madrid Graduate School. It was the third consecutive year in which the Spanish university visited Feyenoord during their annual trip to the Netherlands, during which the KNVB and the academies of AZ Alkmaar and Ajax were also paid a visit. The group follows a Master of Sports Science at the university which is closely connected to the Spanish giants. At the Feyenoord Academy the students observed training sessions of Feyenoord U15 and U19 teams, after which they were given valuable new insights through presentations of Academy Manager Raymond van Meenen and by Rick Cost, the academy's Head of Physical Development and Innovation.

‘We are thankful to Feyenoord that they allow our students to have a look into their Academy system and enables them to speak with managers and (specialist) trainers’, says David Viejo Romero, head of the Football Studies department at the University Real Madrid. ‘The staff at Feyenoord were as always accessible, friendly and helped us in the best possible way to add value to our master program.’

Gido Vader, Manager of International Relations at Feyenoord, is pleased with the partnership that was established in recent years with the Real Madrid Graduate School. ‘The students and their supervisors are welcome guests here at the Feyenoord Academy. The group always consists of an interesting and inspiring mix of former players, active coaches and students of the game from many countries. To us it is a privilege that Feyenoord can contribute to their development and as an added value that we can expand our own network. We hope to continue our collaboration in this way next year, by hosting a new group of students of the University.’
