Rick Karsdorp returns to the fold on loan

Rick Karsdorp is to return to De Kuip on loan from AS Roma. The defender left Feyenoord for the Italian Serie A outfit in the summer of 2017. The 24 year old’s loan deal is for one year.

Karsdorp arrived at Varkenoord as an E-pupil and learned his trade on the pitches of Rotterdam South. He made his official first-team debut in 2014 and went on to claim a regular starting place at right back in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team. Karsdorp made 101 official appearances for Feyenoord and was part of the squad that won the Eredivisie title (2017) and the KNVB Cup (2016). Karsdorp has made 15 official appearances for AS Roma.

Sjaak Troost is happy that the loan deal could be agreed quickly: ‘It’s really great that Jaap Stam can now call on a player whose qualities are well known. He knows the club inside out and needs little time to acclimatise. We expect that Rick will be available for selection very quickly.’
