Ridgeciano Haps signs for Venezia FC
After exactly one hundred competitive appearances for Feyenoord’s first team, Ridgeciano Haps is set to continue his career in Italy. The 28-year-old left-sided player has agreed a move to Serie A club Venezia FC. Haps was contracted to Feyenoord until mid-2022.
Haps joined Feyenoord from AZ in the summer of 2017 and went on to win three trophies. Soon after his switch Feyenoord won the Johan Cruijff Shield. The KNVB Cup followed at the end of 2017-2018, with a second Johan Cruijff Shield win at the beginning of the following season.
Deft on the ball and rapid in a footrace, Haps showed he could do a job for Feyenoord at either left back or further up the wing. He joins Venezia FC, who won promotion to the Serie A last season for the first time in the club’s history.
‘I look back on my time at Feyenoord with a lot of pleasure,’ said Haps. ‘I have experienced some good times in Rotterdam, won trophies and achieved a milestone with a hundred games in the first team. That means a lot to me. I will miss the club, the fans and De Kuip hugely, but I’ll continue to follow you closely. Now it’s time for a new challenge in a top league. Thanks for everything!’
