Six goals in Ukrainian refugee fundraiser

Feyenoord and RKC Waalwijk served up a goal-fest on Wednesday at De Kuip. Bryan Linssen grabbed two for the hosts with Noah Naujoks also netting, but a late goal for the visitors meant the game – organised to raise funds for refugees from Ukraine – finished all square at 3-3.
Arne Slot took the opportunity of a friendly ahead of the international break to give a large number of players time on the pitch. Bryan Linssen played longer than anyone and he took full advantage. He gave Feyenoord the lead in the first half and grabbed his second straight after the break. By that time RKC Waalwijk had netted twice. Linssen also did the spadework for Feyenoord’s third goal, finished by Noah Naujoks.

De Kuip debut
It was a special evening for a number of players, including keeper Valentin Cojocaru and youngsters Nesta Zahui, Milan Hokke, Shiloh ’t Zand and Ömer Gündüz, all of whom made their De Kuip debut. The same had been true of the whole Feyenoord Women’s team, which beat Seastum Women 1-0 in a short-form game of two 15-minute halves.

All the proceeds from the match, which attracted 20,000 fans, including members of Feyenoord’s Kameraadjes junior fan club, will be used to fund projects set up to provide support and assistance to Ukrainian refugees. If you were unable to make it, but would like to make a donation, you can do that here. You decide how much you want to give

Match shirt auction
The shirts from the game are being auctioned off in association with EuroParcs and MatchWornShirts. Proceeds from the auction will also be used to aid Ukrainian refugees. You can make your bid here.
