Feyenoord sign centre forward Santiago Gimenez

‘I was very enthusiastic as soon as I heard of Feyenoord’s interest,’ says Gimenez. ‘It’s a dream for me to be able to play for such a big club. I have very deliberately chosen to take this step and am grateful to everyone for the warm welcome. I believe we can create something special here together and achieve great things.’

Gimenez has only ever played for Cruz Azul. He made his debut for the club from Mexico City aged 18 and has racked up more than a hundred appearances, scoring 20 times and claiming 11 assists.

Gimenez, who was born in Buenos Aires but was raised in Mexico, earned his first Mexico cap in October 2021. He was now played 7 times for his country, scoring twice and giving one assist.

At Feyenoord Gimenez will wear the number 29 shirt.
