Feyenoord pulled off a major upset in the Eurojackpot Vrouwen Eredivisie. At Varkenoord, the reigning champions and league leaders FC Twente were beaten 2–0.
There was little to criticize about the win. Feyenoord had the better of the play, and aside from a few small chances the visitors from Twente were unable to pose much danger.
The opening goal came just over half an hour into the match. Zera Hulswit delivered a cross to the far post, where Mao Itamura headed the ball home. For the Japanese attacker, who played an outstanding match, it was her sixth goal of the season.
After the break, Feyenoord continued to put FC Twente under pressure. This resulted in the 2–0. Following a beautiful attacking move, Tori DellaPeruta fired in her first goal for Feyenoord.
The final score of 2–0 meant FC Twente suffered their first league defeat since November 2024, and that Feyenoord moved to within one point of the league leaders in the standings.
Milestone and debut
The evening was extra special for two players. Romée van de Lavoir came on as a substitute and became only the second player ever to reach the milestone of 100 official matches for Feyenoord. Another substitute, Sanne de Paus, was also able to mark the night as her debut for the club.
