ASA Football meets Dutch football in Rotterdam

After experiencing multiple different international team trips in Europe, it was time for ASA Football to take their next trip to Rotterdam for their first multiday training and cultural experience at Feyenoord. Two youth teams, together with their parents and coach Roberto Polistina, flew over from Sydney, Australia to experience top tier training at the Feyenoord Academy. From the 22nd to the 26th of September, the two youth teams from ASA Football experienced a rare opportunity to train under the guidance of Feyenoord’s Academy professional coaching staff, immersing themselves in the intensity and precision of European Football.

Upon arrival at the Academy, the teams participated in multiple high-level training sessions designed to challenge their technical and tactical abilities. These sessions were led by the Feyenoord Academy coaches that featured multiple on-field drills that emphasized quick decision-making and team cohesion. Players rotated through position-specific workouts, small-sided possession games, and situational training scenarios.

The players had the chance to put everything they had learned into practice by playing friendly matches against Feyenoord Academy partners BVV Barendrecht and vv Spirit. These competitive fixtures allowed ASA players to measure themselves against European standards and gain valuable international experience on and off the pitch.

Beyond the football sessions, the trip also included cultural exploration. The group went on a guided stadium tour of the Kuip and explored the vibrant city of Rotterdam. They also had the chance to discover the city of Utrecht, enjoying local sights and deepening their appreciation for Dutch culture. The highlight of the trip was to watch a live fixture of an Eredivisie match where the ASA group got to see Dutch football and feel the atmosphere that comes with it.

This unique blend of elite training, competitive play and cultural immersion made the ASA Football Trip to Feyenoord a truly enriching experience. One that will leave a lasting impact on every player and parent involved.

“From start to finish, the professionalism, organization, and attention to detail were of the highest standard. The program was incredibly well-structured, with every aspect of the tour running smoothly. Our players and families were made to feel welcome and valued, and the footballing experience provided was first-class along with a valuable cultural education.

The feedback from everyone involved at ASA Football has been overwhelmingly positive. The tour not only gave our players invaluable football opportunities but also created memories that will last a lifetime - The players can now take lessons and learnings back home with them to apply to their day-to-day footballing life.

We are very grateful for the efforts of the Feyenoord Global Football staff in making this tour such a success, and we look forward to working together again in the future.”
