The Afrikaanderplein in Rotterdam-Zuid, such a defining spot in Feyenoord's history, was transformed into a playing venue for dozens of local children from Monday to Wednesday. They were able to take part in the Become A Champion 5-on-5 tournament organised by the club. The Salomon Kalou Cruijf Court was even completely decorated in Champions League style for these games.
The final on Wednesday afternoon was not only about the tournament win and honour, but also had a very special prize at stake. The winning team gets tickets to the Champions League match between Feyenoord and Sparta Prague, Wednesday evening at 21:00 in De Kuip.
All sorts of activities were also on offer around Clubhouse Feyenoord. For example, the youngsters could walk in the shoes of a real Feyenoord player. With the This is Us container containing the simulated player tunnel and various football games supervised by Feyenoord trainers, the participants felt as if they were playing football in De Kuip.
