Celainy Obispo continues career with Hamburger SV

Feyenoord and Celainy Obispo will part ways after five memorable seasons together. The 25-year-old defender will continue her career with Hamburger SV in Germany. With her departure, Feyenoord says goodbye to a player who has played a defining role in the development of Feyenoord V1 from day one.

Obispo looks back on her time at the club with great pride:

"Feyenoord is my club and will always hold a special place in my heart. As a girl from Rotterdam-Zuid, I never dared to dream that I would not only play for Feyenoord, but also become captain and make history together with the team. I am incredibly grateful to everyone at the club and all the supporters for their trust and support. This isn't goodbye, it's see you later."

For Obispo, Feyenoord has always been more than just a football club. Born and raised in Rotterdam-Zuid, she grew up surrounded by the club's red-and-white colours. As a local girl, she dreamed of one day wearing the Feyenoord shirt. When the club entered the Eredivisie in 2021, that dream became reality. From that moment on, Obispo developed into one of the faces of women's football at Feyenoord.

From Feyenoord V1's very first league match, Obispo was a constant presence in the team. She helped lay the foundations for a new chapter in the club's history and even provided the assist for Feyenoord V1's first-ever Eredivisie goals. In the years that followed, she established herself as the leader of the defence, captain of the team and a role model for young players both on and off the pitch. Obispo also became the first player in the history of the women's team to reach the milestone of 100 official appearances.

The bond between Obispo and Feyenoord has always been a special one. The Rotterdam native often described Feyenoord as her second home and was widely regarded within the club as the face of Feyenoord V1. Her determination, passion and pride in wearing the shirt made her a fan favourite and earned the admiration of teammates and staff alike.

Alongside her performances on the pitch, Obispo also made an important contribution to the community in the city where she grew up. Through her role with the Feyenoord Foundation, she inspired young people in Rotterdam-Zuid and showed what can be achieved when talent, hard work and love for the club come together. In doing so, she became a role model for many and a living example of the Feyenoord mentality.

With her move to HSV, Obispo embarks on a new sporting challenge in her career. Feyenoord would like to thank Celainy for her unwavering commitment, leadership and dedication, and wishes her every success in Germany.
