Feyenoord Under 19 are off the mark in the UEFA Youth League. The youth team took their first point this tournament in the home match against RB Salzburg on Wednesday, which was thanks to a fine comeback. After trailing 0-2, it became 2-2 at Varkenoord.
Salzburg were dominant from the early stages, but it was only shortly after half-time that the score reflected that. Within ten minutes, Phillip Verhounig scored twice, which made it look like the Austrians were on their way to another win.
Feyenoord Under 19 did not give up, however, and levelled the score in the space of five minutes after more than an hour of play. First Tobias van den Elshout scored the tying goal, and a little later Paulo Rudisill was also on target. Partly due to a red card on the Salzburg side, Under 19 hoped for more in the closing stages, but the score remained level.
The next game for Feyenoord Under 19 in the Youth League is against Manchester City O19 on Tuesday 26 November.
