Feyenoord and Dennis te Kloese have mutually agreed that he will step down from his role as the club’s general director in the summer of 2026. The process to appoint a successor is already underway.
Dennis te Kloese joined Feyenoord at the beginning of 2022 as general director. He arrived from American MLS side LA Galaxy, where he served as general manager, following earlier executive roles in Mexico and with the Mexican Football Federation.
Since Te Kloese’s appointment, Feyenoord has made significant progress under his leadership, including a very strong transfer balance and two qualifications for the UEFA Champions League, in which notable results were achieved. During this period, the club also won a national title, the TOTO KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruijff Shield. Partly due to sporting and transfer successes, Feyenoord recorded a record revenue of €160 million last season, while the club’s equity increased from €1 million in 2022 to €37 million in the most recently published annual accounts.
Toon van Bodegom: “Dennis has led Feyenoord through a period of great dynamism and has brought the club to a higher and more stable financial level. His contribution to the professionalisation and long-term sustainability of Feyenoord has been of great value. However, the efforts have also taken their toll, as we have jointly concluded. That is why we have come to the decision that it is good for both him and the club to soon bring this overall successful partnership to an end.”
Dennis te Kloese: “I will continue to work hard in the coming period, as I want to leave the club in the best possible shape. But I can already say that it has truly been a privilege to lead Feyenoord. Of course, not everything has gone perfectly, but together with all colleagues within the club we have made great strides.
The foundation that is now in place is strong. I hope the club and its supporters can continue to build on this, including by finally becoming one with the stadium in the near future after decades of complications.
What and where the future will bring for me and my family remains to be seen, but regardless, I will always look back on this period with pride, and I wish Feyenoord and all Feyenoorders every success.”
