Feyenoord V1 suffered a 4-0 defeat against FC Twente. In the fourth round of the Eurojackpot Vrouwen Eredivisie, Marc Pieters’ side endured a difficult afternoon in Enschede on Sunday.
After last week’s 0-6 defeat against PSV, Feyenoord were looking to bounce back. The team had to do so without Noëlle van der Sluijs, who was forced off injured in that match and will be sidelined for an extended period.
Twente were the stronger side in the opening stages. Feyenoord tried to press high up the pitch, but struggled to get into the game. The home side hit both the post and the crossbar several times in the opening half hour.
As the first half progressed, Feyenoord gradually began to play better, although without creating any clear-cut chances. Twente then struck twice before the break, opening the scoring in the 35th minute before making it 2-0 four minutes later.
After half-time, Feyenoord tried to apply more pressure and managed to create a number of smaller chances. Twente remained the more clinical side, however, and extended their lead to 4-0.
The afternoon in Enschede therefore ended in a heavy defeat for Feyenoord.
