Feyenoord can now call it a dream week after securing yet another victory. Following wins over Go Ahead Eagles (1-5) and SL Benfica (1-3, Champions League), they capped it off on Sunday with a solid three points away against FC Utrecht: 0-2.
After Wednesday’s grueling battle at Estádio da Luz, Julián Carranza’s early goal in the match was a welcome relief for Feyenoord. The Argentine marked his first start for the club with a goal, thanks to another excellent assist from Hugo Bueno.
With the lead secured, Brian Priske’s team focused on controlling the game, a task they executed with intense concentration. FC Utrecht, second in the Eredivisie, was kept far from Feyenoord’s goal, and a brilliant long-range shot by Quinten Timber in the second half sealed the match.
Feyenoord can now prepare for De Klassieker, this coming Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in a sold-out Kuip.
