The 11th edition of Feyenoord Camp Toronto has come to an end, continuing the long-standing partnership between Dutch Connections FC and Feyenoord Rotterdam. For more than a decade, the camp has provided young players with a unique opportunity to develop their skills under the guidance of coaches from the renowned Feyenoord Academy.
This year’s edition once again brought together talented young athletes from across the Greater Toronto Area to experience Feyenoord’s proven training methodology. Throughout the first week, participants took part in intensive sessions focused on technical development, tactical awareness, decision-making, and overall football intelligence.
Unfortunately, the second week of the camp had to be cancelled midway through due to the impact of the wildfires affecting the region. While this was disappointing for players, families, and staff, the safety and well-being of all participants remained the highest priority.
“It was a pleasure to be part of the 11th edition of Feyenoord Camp Toronto and to work directly with the talented players from the region. You could see the players’ enthusiasm and willingness to learn throughout the sessions. It was a great opportunity to share elements of Feyenoord’s football philosophy and to challenge the players to develop individually. The commitment and energy they showed made the camp a very rewarding experience”, said Vincent Blancke, International Development Coach at Feyenoord.
Over the years, the camp has grown significantly in both scale and impact. The combination of Feyenoord’s elite training philosophy and Dutch Connections FC’s local expertise continues to create a high-quality environment where young athletes can learn, improve, and be inspired.
“Our partnership with Dutch Connections FC is a great example of how a long-term collaboration can create lasting value for young players and for football development as a whole. For more than a decade, we have worked together to bring Feyenoord’s football philosophy to Canada and provide local talent with meaningful development opportunities. We are proud of what we have built together and look forward to continuing this successful partnership and further strengthening the connection between Dutch Connections FC and Feyenoord in the years ahead”, said Gido Vader, Head of International Football Affairs at Feyenoord.
With a shared commitment to excellence, education, and opportunity, Dutch Connections FC and Feyenoord remain dedicated to supporting the growth of youth football in Canada. The 11th edition of Feyenoord Camp Toronto reflects the strength of this partnership and reinforces the ambition to continue creating meaningful development opportunities for young players in the years to come.
