Feyenoord secured three points with some difficulty on Saturday evening in their away match against Telstar. Despite a lightning-fast start and holding a two-goal lead on several occasions, it remained a nail-biter until the very end in Velsen-Zuid: 3-4.
Just 25 seconds in, Gaoussou Diarra opened the scoring with the fastest goal of this Eredivisie season. Nacho Ferri doubled the lead, after which Telstar pulled one back. Sem Steijn then finished off a brilliant attack, but just before halftime, the score was 2-3.
After the break, Steijn converted a penalty kick to make it 2-4, though Telstar once again closed the gap to one goal. Feyenoord ultimately held on and, after a tough evening, took home all three points back to Rotterdam.
