Ibrahim Osman will wear the Feyenoord colors this season. The 19-year-old Ghanaian is in fact rented for one season from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. With his speed and agility, Osman adds an extra impetus to Feyenoord's attack.
'At Feyenoord, young players are given the chance to develop,' Osman says of his reasons for choosing Feyenoord. 'For my development, it's good to play here and improve facets of my game. And I want to use my qualities to help the team achieve great things in the Eredivisie and in Europe.'
Osman, who was born in Ghana's capital Accra in 2004, began playing soccer with a local soccer team called Strong Tower before ending up at the Right to Dream Academy. In early 2023, he was picked up there by FC Nordsjaelland. In a year and a half, he played 54 games for the top Danish club, in which he accounted for 10 goals and eight assists. Due to his good performance at FC Nordsjaelland, he was contracted by Brighton & Hove Albion, which now leases him to Feyenoord.
In Rotterdam, Osman will play with jersey number 38. However, the two-time international, who made his official debut for Ghana's national team in March this year, is not yet deployable for the time being. The striker is still awaiting his combined residence and work permit to be issued by the authorities, after which he will be eligible to play for Feyenoord.
