Feyenoord has been nominated for the Football Gives Prize. Eleven clubs have a chance to win a nice contribution from the Friends Lottery for a social project. With your vote, you and a professional jury will decide which clubs will receive a cheque of €50,000, €30,000 or €20,000. Voting pays off: you have a chance of winning an autographed shirt of your favourite club!
Feyenoord is competing with Feyenoord Forever, a programme for over-55s in Rotterdam that brings vitality and memories together. Exercise activities are organised in the neighbourhoods, while special experience afternoons take place at De Kuip. There, the elderly, including people with dementia, take a trip down memory lane with unique Feyenoord relics such as old season tickets, newspaper clippings and even the European Cup.
After a successful pilot, the project was expanded, in cooperation with welfare parties, elderly organisations and the municipality of Rotterdam. The aim? First, to let the elderly experience the magical Feyenoord experience again, by reminding them of the club's glory days. The second goal is to get the elderly moving, which is crucial for their health. Research shows that exercise not only promotes physical well-being, but also mental well-being, by keeping the brain active.
Feyenoord Forever shows that you are never too old to move, remember and connect. Vote for this initiative and give the elderly in our city the attention they deserve.
