Feyenoord have reached an agreement with La Liga side RCD Mallorca on the loan of Cyle Larin. The arrival of the experienced Canadian striker provides head coach Robin van Persie’s team with an extra option in attack.

That fits perfectly with who I am, and I’m looking forward to playing for Feyenoord and working with coach Robin van Persie. He was a striker, just like me, and his presence convinced me to come to Rotterdam. I can learn a lot from him.’
‘I’ve of course played football in different places and gained a lot of experience. But my goal is always the same everywhere: to score goals and win championships. That is not easy, so as a team and as a club you have to work very hard every day to achieve success. I can’t wait to get started.’
The 30-year-old Larin, born in Brampton, a suburb of Toronto, started playing football at local club Brampton YSC and at the Sigma FC academy. Through the American college team UConn Huskies, he made the step to MLS side Orlando City, where he was named Rookie of the Year in his debut season. After scoring 44 goals in three seasons, the powerful striker moved to Europe in 2018 by signing for Besiktas.
Larin also underlined his status as a goalscorer in Turkey, netting 39 times in 109 appearances and winning both the league title and the cup with Beşiktaş in 2021. After spells with Club Brugge and Real Valladolid, the 86-cap Canada international joined RCD Mallorca in 2023 and went on to play in La Liga over the past two seasons.
Larin will wear the number 10 shirt at Feyenoord.
