

Feyenoord U-19 kicked off the UEFA Youth League with an impressive victory. Coach Jimmy Lucassen’s team won 1-2 on the road against FC Barcelona U-19 on Thursday morning. Jivayno Zinhagel and Jerayno Schaken scored the goals for Rotterdam.
At the Estadi Johan Cruyff, the Under-19 team got off to a flying start. Just nine minutes in, Zinhagel opened the scoring: 0-1. Midway through the first half, the lead was doubled. On a pass from Zinhagel, Schaken made it 0-2 in the 23rd minute.
After halftime, the Catalan talents went in search of a goal to cut the deficit. It came in the 77th minute from the penalty spot. Shortly afterward, Feyenoord was reduced to ten men after Levi Haps received a second yellow card. That led to a thrilling final stretch, but the ten-man Feyenoord side held firm and secured the victory.
