Feyenoord V1 defeat PEC Zwolle after penalties and progress in the cup

Following last Sunday’s 1–0 victory over PEC in the league, Feyenoord faced the team from Zwolle for the second time in six days on Friday evening.

The round-of-16 match in the Eurojackpot KNVB Cup turned into a real football battle, with both teams evenly matched.

Especially in the second half, the team coached by Jessica Torny created the best chances to open the scoring, but none of them found the net.

After 90 minutes of play plus 30 minutes of extra time, the scoreboard still read 0–0. In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Feyenoord goalkeeper Claire Dinkla played a key role with a crucial save. Akari Takeshige then fired the winning penalty into the net.

The quarter-finals of the Eurojackpot KNVB Cup will be played on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 January 2026. The draw for this round will take place this coming Sunday, 14 December.
