During the international break, Feyenoord V1 played a commendable 2-2 draw in a friendly match on Thursday afternoon against the German team Bayer 04 Leverkusen. A 0-2 deficit at halftime was erased by goals from Sanne Koopman and Jada Conijnenberg.
Feyenoord traveled with several new names to Siebengewald, where the friendly against the current number 4 of the Frauen Bundesliga took place. Players Jayda Vinckers, Eline Oudejans, Lily Braun, and Zuri Janga from Jong Feyenoord Vrouwen were included in the match squad.
First chance, first goal
Jessica Torny’s team started the game well, but found themselves trailing after 15 minutes. The first real chance for the German opponent, after 22 minutes of play, resulted in a goal: 0-1.
Just before halftime, Leverkusen also scored a second goal, making it 0-2, setting up a tough second half for Feyenoord.
Strong comeback
After the break, Feyenoord came out strong, and within a few minutes, the deficit was wiped out. First, Sanne Koopman reacted quickly to a mistake by the Leverkusen goalkeeper to make it 1-2.
Two minutes later, Eline Oudejans provided a well-timed pass to Jada Conijnenberg, who slotted in the 2-2.
Just before the end, Feyenoord had a chance to score the winner, but Eline Oudejans hit the post. Final score: 2-2.
