Feyenoord V1 defeated fellow league team AZ in a friendly match by the smallest margin. At the AFAS Training Complex in Wijdewormer, the final score was 0-1, thanks to a goal by Imara Schutte.
Feyenoord, where Toko Koga made her first appearance this season after participating in the Olympic Games in Paris with the Japanese team, had a difficult first half in Wijdewormer. The best chances before the break were for the home team, and it took a long time before Torny's team could create any real threat to AZ's goal.
After halftime, Feyenoord improved their performance in the match. Nonetheless, the biggest chances initially were still for AZ. In the 53rd and 66th minutes, Oliwia Szymczak, who replaced Jacintha Weimar in goal in the second half, had to make two great saves to prevent her team from falling behind.
Shortly after the second opportunity, AZ seemed to score, but the flag went up for offside. A few minutes later, Feyenoord came very close to opening the scoring. In a long attack, Romée van de Lavoir's shot first hit the post, and on the rebound, Imara Schutte's effort deflected off the crossbar.
Six minutes before the end, Feyenoord finally managed to score. Schutte, the just 17-year-old player from the Feyenoord U19 team, crowned herself the match-winner with a powerful header. Final score: 0-1.
