

Feyenoord recorded an important victory on Sunday evening. Thanks to a goal by Kirsten van de Westeringh, city rivals Excelsior were beaten 1–0.
Jessica Torny’s side had a difficult time against Excelsior on Sunday. Before halftime, chances were created, but none of them found the target.
The biggest opportunity came just before the break. Tori DellaPeruta, making her debut, went through on goal after a fine solo run, but her shot went wide of the visitors’ goal.
In the end, it was a wonderful strike from Kirsten van de Westeringh that made the difference. Twenty minutes before full time, Van de Westeringh shot from well outside the penalty area, and her effort flew into the net.
Thanks to this victory, Feyenoord remain involved at the top of the Eurojackpot Women’s Eredivisie. After eleven matchdays, Torny’s team sit in third place.
