Feyenoord have secured their first European win of the season. Robin van Persie’s side beat Panathinaikos 3-1 at home on Thursday.
The first-half stoppage time lasted just long enough for Feyenoord. After a difficult opening 45 minutes, the early deficit was wiped out right before the break thanks to an equaliser from Givairo Read, who finished well after a fine assist from Aymen Sliti.
In the second half, the team took control of the match. Anis Hadj Moussa put Feyenoord ahead with a brilliant piece of skill, and it was Cyle Larin who eventually ended all doubt. The Canadian scored his first official goal for the club in stoppage time.
With their first Europa League win secured, Feyenoord can now turn their attention to Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash with PSV, kicking off at 02:30 p.m.
