From March 24 to 28, Feyenoord and Apex Football Academy organized their first Feyenoord Camp in Vancouver as part of their partnership. Sixty young footballers took part in the camp, learning from Feyenoord Academy coaches. ‘We always knew that Feyenoord’s brilliant approach to youth development aligned perfectly with our philosophy at Apex Football Academy and this was further confirmed at our hugely successful Feyenoord Camp in Vancouver’, said Apex Football Academy Founder & Technical Director Siamak Hashemi.
Three Feyenoord Academy coaches traveled to Vancouver to lead the sessions. They shared their expertise and training methods with the participants. Over five days, players worked on their technical skills and tactical awareness. ‘The feedback from our players, parents and coaches after the camp has been nothing short of exceptional. The level of professionalism and attention to detail in each session was spectacular. Best of all, every player walked away with a smile on their face having fallen more in love with The Beautiful Game and eager to return to our next Feyenoord Camp in July’, added Hashemi.
The Feyenoord Camp was also a valuable learning experience for the coaching staff of Apex Football Academy. ‘As a coach I enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside the Feyenoord Academy coaches and to see how they deliver sessions’, said Dan Davidson, Football Coach at Apex Football Academy. ‘My main take away was how well the sessions incorporate 1v1’s and 2v2’s after every action which added a level of match intensity to every activity we did. It was a pleasure to be a part of this camp and I look forward to any potential opportunities in the future to do this again!’
The first edition of Feyenoord Camp Vancouver strengthened the partnership between Feyenoord and Apex Football Academy. The two organizations joined forces in September 2024 to develop young talent and improve coaching standards in Canada. ‘Feyenoord’s reputation for developing world-class talent is well-earned, and to have their elite coaching staff working with our players was an incredible experience. The intensity, discipline, and technical expertise they brought to Vancouver set a new standard for youth development in our region’, said Raj Khatar, Managing Director at Apex Football Academy.
After the success of the first Feyenoord Camp in Vancouver, Feyenoord and Apex Football Academy are excited to announce a second camp in Vancouver from July 21 to 25, 2025. ‘We are delighted to continue this incredible collaboration with the esteemed Feyenoord Academy and to bring even more top class development to our players here in Vancouver’, concludes Hashemi.
