Jyri Nieminen will leave Feyenoord on the 1st of July after three seasons. The club and their goalkeeper coach are parting ways by mutual consent. The 38-year-old Finn, who also works with the Finnish national team, joined from New York Red Bulls in the summer of 2023.
'I am extremely proud of the years I have been able to work at this great club, in an environment where everything and everyone is focused on growing together every day,' said Nieminen. 'I would like to express my gratitude to the fantastic colleagues I have had around me, and certainly also to the players and each individual goalkeeper I have had the privilege of working with at Feyenoord. It has been an honour.'
Nieminen arrived at De Kuip in the summer of 2023 as the successor to Khalid Benlahsen, who had left for the KNVB. He was part of the coaching staff that won the KNVB Cup in 2024 and the staff that claimed the Johan Cruijff Shield a few months later.
Feyenoord will begin the search for a successor and wishes Jyri all the best in the remainder of his career.
