Mao Itamura is the newest addition to Feyenoord Women’s first team. The 18-year-old Japanese youth international is transferring immediately from JFA Academy Fukushima and signed a contract this week in De Kuip’s Boardroom until mid-2027, with an option for an additional year.
“For me, the move to Feyenoord feels amazing,” says Itamura, who joined Feyenoord Women’s training camp in Doha last week as a trial player. “The players and staff have welcomed me so well, and I already feel completely at home in the group. I’m looking forward to everything that’s ahead.”
Itamura is a talented forward who has played for JFA Academy Fukushima in recent seasons. She is also a Japanese youth international, having participated in the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India and the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Itamura will wear jersey number 23 for Feyenoord.
