Javi López joins Feyenoord on loan

Javi López was born in Orotava, Tenerife, where he started playing football for his local club. He soon joined the youth academy of CD Tenerife, where he was scouted by Deportivo Alavés. At the Basque club, he developed into a Spain youth international and it was not long before he made his first-team debut.

From the age of 18, Javi López made more than 80 league appearances for Alavés before the energetic full-back joined Real Sociedad in the summer of 2024. After a first season in which he made 38 official appearances for the Basque side, he spent last season on loan at Real Oviedo. The left-back has made more than 100 La Liga appearances during his career.

Javi López will wear number 16 at Feyenoord.
