Feyenoord and OGC Nice have agreed on the transfer of Jordan Lotomba. The 25-year-old Swiss, who has been an almost structural base player at French top club OGC Nice for the past four seasons, signs with Feyenoord until mid-2027.
'I am very happy to be here and very much looking forward to defending the colors of this beautiful club,' Lotomba said. 'Of course, I know Feyenoord from the Europa League match in 2019, when I played with Young Boys at De Kuip. The crowd then went wild like it was a World Cup final, very impressive. My former teammate Calvin Stengs also told me many positive things about the club in addition to that. I therefore cannot wait to compete with Feyenoord for prizes and be active in the Champions League.'
Lotomba, who was born in Yverdon-les-Bains in Switzerland, began his education as a football player with FC Champagne before being scouted by the youth academy of Swiss professional club Yverdon-Sport FC in his hometown. Lausanne-Sport acquired the speedy defender in 2013 and in the summer of 2016, Lotomba made his debut for the main squad at the highest Swiss football level at the age of 17. In the following 2016-2017 season, he grew into a regular base player at Lausanne-Sport despite his youthful age.
After his transfer in mid-2017 to Young Boys, he captured the Swiss national title three times in a row. Partly as a result, the club was active at the European level every season, and thus Lotomba found himself at De Kuip with Young Boys for a group game in the UEFA Europa League in the fall of 2019. His solid play in service to the Swiss champion earned him not only his first selection for the Swiss national team, but also a transfer to OGC Nice. For the French club, he spent four seasons predominantly as a right back, playing a total of 143 duels. In season 2021-2022, he played in southern France alongside Calvin Stengs, whom he will meet again as a teammate at De Kuip.
At Feyenoord, Lotomba will play with number 30.
