Feyenoord earned a point in Saturday night's away match at N.E.C. thanks to a late goal from Jordan Lotomba: 1-1. It was all coach Brian Priske's team could hope for, as it lost for the fourth time in six league games.
On the balance of chances, Feyenoord deserved a lead before half-time, but Ayase Ueda (twice) and Igor Paixão were sloppy with the opportunities they were presented with. At the other end, the first serious danger was a direct hit, when Thomas Beelen choked on Sontje Hansen.
Despite the deficit, there were no chances in the second half for a long time. Feyenoord hardly forced anything and looked to be heading for their first league defeat of the season and this calendar year, until Lotomba struck on the rebound just before time.
Feyenoord travel to Spain on Tuesday, where the Champions League match against Girona FC is scheduled for Wednesday. The next league game is next Sunday at home against FC Twente.
