Feyenoord have appointed Marc Pieters as the new head coach of Feyenoord V1. The 30-year-old from Haarlem, who has worked as an assistant coach with Feyenoord V1 in recent seasons, signed a contract earlier today that runs until mid-2027. Pieters takes up his new role with immediate effect.
Manon Melis, Head of Women’s Football at Feyenoord, said: “With the appointment of Marc as head coach, we are consciously choosing continuity. In recent years, we have set out a clear direction, and with Marc we will continue to build on that. He knows the squad, the staff and the club better than anyone. We have full confidence that, together with the rest of the staff, he can take the next step in the development of Feyenoord V1.”
Pieters is looking forward to his new challenge with great enthusiasm. “I am proud to be the new head coach of Feyenoord V1. Over the past seasons, I have closely experienced the development of this group and have enjoyed contributing to it. Being given the responsibility to continue building as head coach feels like a wonderful step. I am looking forward to working with the players and staff to further pursue Feyenoord’s ambitions.”
Before joining Feyenoord in the summer of 2023, Pieters spent seven seasons working within the youth academy of FC Volendam. At the club from the North Holland fishing village, he served as head coach of several youth teams and also held a role as coordinator.
