Marcos Lopez is leaving Feyenoord for FC Copenhagen. The 24-year-old Peruvian, who still has a contract with Feyenoord until mid-2026, is on loan to the club from Denmark for one season, including an option to buy.
Feyenoord signed Lopez from Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes in the summer of 2022. Although the 38-time Peruvian international didn't grow into a steady first-team player at De Kuip, he was still good for 45 games in Feyenoord's first team in two seasons.
Especially his performance at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, when he came on as a substitute early in the first half and helped Feyenoord to a crucial away win over Ajax, will capture the imagination of many supporters. The victory in Amsterdam was one of the decisive results on the way to Feyenoord's 16th national title, one of the three prizes Lopez managed to win in service to the Rotterdammers.
Feyenoord wishes Lopez all the best at FC Copenhagen.
