Maruschka Waldus is the latest addition to Feyenoord V1. The 31-year-old free agent had been training with the squad of head coach Jessica Torny in recent weeks and signed a one-year contract at De Kuip on Thursday.
"With Maruschka, we're bringing in a player with a wealth of experience," says Manon Melis, Women's Football Coordinator at Feyenoord. "Since the beginning of the pre-season, Maruschka has been training with the team, and the feeling on both sides has been positive. We're glad that she has now officially become a Feyenoord player."
After signing, Waldus expressed her happiness with this great opportunity. "Even though I've only been with the club for a short time, I already feel very much at home. The ambitions that have been expressed align well with mine, and I also find it rewarding to help the talented players in the squad develop. I'm really looking forward to the start of the new season."
Born in Heerenveen, Waldus has developed into a football nomad throughout her rich career. The Frisian began her career at sc Heerenveen and later played in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Iceland, Australia, and Norway. In the Netherlands, Waldus also played for FC Twente and PSV in addition to sc Heerenveen.
