Feyenoord have strengthened their squad with a new defender. The 21-year-old Swiss player Mia Schmid joins on a free transfer from two-time UEFA Women’s Champions League winners 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam and has signed a contract with Feyenoord until mid-2028.
‘I’m really looking forward to playing for Feyenoord,’ Schmid says. ‘The conversations with the club were very positive, so I can’t wait to begin this new adventure and meet my teammates. I will do everything I can to help Feyenoord compete for trophies again next season.’
Schmid began her career in the youth academy of GC Zürich, close to her hometown of Zollikon. She made her first-team debut for the club at the age of sixteen. After her first season, the right-footed defender moved to Turbine Potsdam, where she won the 2. Bundesliga title and secured promotion.
