Nick de Koning has been named the first LYB Academy Player of the Month of the 2025-2026 season. The 18-year-old midfielder of Feyenoord Under 19 received the corresponding trophy this week from Zeb Jacobs and Brian Pinas.
According to Zeb Jacobs, Head of Academy at Feyenoord, De Koning is showing great development at Varkenoord. “Nick shows both on and off the pitch what hard work delivers every day. His growth since the start of the new season is therefore a wonderful example for everyone.”
An extra reward was given to De Koning this week by head coach Robin van Persie. Throughout the week, the midfielder trained with Feyenoord 1 at training complex 1908, and on Thursday afternoon he was allowed to make his unofficial debut during the closed friendly match against FC Dordrecht.

Since mid-2024, LyondellBasell (LYB) has been the proud name partner of this award.
