ÖFB Trainerakademie visits Feyenoord Academy

The delegation consisted of 23 UEFA A License students and five course leaders from the ÖFB Trainerakademie. The three-day program offered the Austrian coaches an in-depth look at the daily working environment at the Academy. The program included presentations on the structure and methodology of the Feyenoord Academy, training session observations and an interactive workshop. These sessions provided opportunities for the visitors to gain practical insights, ask questions and exchange ideas with colleagues from Feyenoord.

Alexander Diridl of the ÖFB Trainerakademie reflected positively on the visit: ‘Visiting the Feyenoord Academy was a great experience for us as ÖFB Trainerakademie and our students. We had the opportunity to get a detailed insight into the Feyenoord DNA and their work in all departments of the Academy. We witnessed a detailed approach where all aspects of the game are considered and, what was really interesting, a high focus on individual development.’

A key theme throughout the program was the importance of individual development and a consistent football philosophy, with discussions focusing on how these principles are translated into daily practice within an academy environment.

The visit once again demonstrated the value of international knowledge exchange within football. By opening up the Academy and sharing experiences, methodologies and ideas, Feyenoord and the ÖFB Trainerakademie created valuable opportunities for learning and further development on both sides.
