Feyenoord and Olympique Marseille have reached an agreement on the immediate transfer of Quinten Timber. The 24-year-old midfielder, whose contract at De Kuip was due to expire next summer, will leave the club immediately to join the southern French side, where he will become a teammate of Igor Paixão.
‘Thank you from the bottom of my heart,' says Timber. 'In particular to the people at and around the club and certainly also to the supporters. This was not the farewell I had in mind. As is so often the case in football, not everything can be controlled. I have always worn the Feyenoord shirt with pride and I am also proud of my time here and everything we have achieved together.'
'I was able to win the national title here, as well as the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruijff Schaal,' Timber continues. 'The European nights, away but especially at home, were incredible. I enjoyed them intensely. De Kuip at its best. I'm not trying to please anyone, but this is how I experienced it. How I will look back on this period of my life with gratitude for years to come. This club is special. All the best to you all. It was an honor.'
Feyenoord wishes Quinten every success at Olympique Marseille.
