Said Bakkati will return to Feyenoord on the 1st of July. He will join head coach Robin van Persie's coaching staff as an assistant for the 2026-2027 season, signing a contract for three years. The 44-year-old coach joins from Sparta Rotterdam.
'I am really delighted to be returning to Feyenoord,' said Bakkati, who has more than ten years of experience in the role he will fulfil in Rotterdam-Zuid. 'In the years since my first period here, I have seen the club make great progress in every area. I am proud to now be part of the next phase the club is entering and cannot wait to get started.'
This coming summer will mark the start of Bakkati's second period at Feyenoord, having previously been part of the club's coaching staff. At De Kuip, he will take the place of departing Etiënne Reijnen, whose contract expires next month.
Bakkati has made his mark at clubs both in the Netherlands and abroad, and in August 2025 also joined the coaching staff of Jong Oranje. In that role, he will see out the current qualification cycle until his contract expires, which ends in early October.
