Strong Feyenoord V1 draw in friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt

Feyenoord knew they would face a tough opponent in their second friendly of the pre-season. Eintracht Frankfurt finished third in last season’s highly competitive Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga and will already play their first official match in a week and a half, in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Feyenoord hold firm
The Germans had the majority of possession on Saturday afternoon, but Feyenoord stood firm. Mia Schmid, the central defender who signed her contract at De Kuip yesterday, was included in the matchday squad but did not feature.

Despite Frankfurt’s dominance on the ball, Feyenoord conceded hardly any chances throughout the match. On the few occasions the Germans did manage to get shots on target, Feyenoord goalkeeper Claire Dinkla was there to prevent a goal.

Big chance
Feyenoord had one major opportunity to score. In stoppage time, Ilayah Dostmohamed went one-on-one with the Frankfurt goalkeeper, but her effort was saved.

Feyenoord will play their next friendly on Friday 31 July. Belgian champions OH Leuven will visit Varkenoord. Entry to the sports complex is free. Kick-off is at 1:00 PM, and the match will also be broadcast live on Feyenoord ONE.
