Feyenoord is on the eve of a new Europa League campaign, which begins with an away match against Braga. After arriving in Portugal, Robin van Persie and Gonçalo Borges travelled on Tuesday evening to Estadio Municipal for the customary pre-match press conference.
For Borges, Braga is not unfamiliar territory, having previously played for FC Porto. During the press conference, the winger reflected on his time in his home country, but also shared more about the difficult period he is going through personally due to a death in the family.
Van Persie, in turn, revealed to the media in attendance that the Portuguese player, who joined this summer, will start on Wednesday. “He’s ready,” said the head coach, who also addressed the absence of Ayase Ueda and Givairo Read and Feyenoord’s objectives in the European competition.
