Feyenoord have rewarded youth player Boaz Plantinga with his first professional contract. In the presence of family and friends, the Feyenoord Academy player signed a contract until mid-2028.
‘I am very happy with the confidence I am getting from the club,’ said Plantinga, who has played in Feyenoord's youth academy since last season. 'In the coming years, I want to develop further at Varkenoord and continue to make great strides. My long-term goal is obviously to make it to Feyenoord 1.'
The Amersfoort-born Plantinga once started playing football with the amateurs of Roda'46 from Leusden. Via the youth academy of FC Utrecht, the central defender ended up at Feyenoord Academy in the summer of 2023. At Varkenoord, Plantinga plays the current season in Feyenoord Under 16, which is led by coach Jimmy Lucassen. Also, the right-winger can call himself a youth international since this year.
